Programs

Like the invitation itself, wedding programs are special tokens from your wedding - a gift that endures to remind your guests of this most memorable day. Whether you choose a booklet program tied with dupioni silk or a double-sided single card wrapped in tree-free twine, chances are your guests will take these mementos home.

  • The wedding program is handed out, or displayed for the taking, when guests arrive at your ceremony.
  • It serves to prominently display your names, the wedding date, the time, and the location, as well as outline the sequence of events in your celebration.
  • Any readings, song titles, and sentiments (poems, lyrics, shakespeare, whatever your fancy) are also included in the program. The names of those involved in the ceremony and their relationship to the bride and groom are also listed.
  • Programs are also excellent outlets for thanking the many people connected with making your wedding as fantastic as we sincerely hope it is.
  • The design of your program is based upon two factors: taste and information.
    • If your stationery suite matches for the entire wedding it follows that the program should match as well.
    • If you have quite a bit of information and need many pages for your program, no problem, we're happy to discuss formatting and the most appropriate method for conveying it.
    • Perhaps you don't have a great deal of text but would like guests to have someverything to follow along with and keep. We'll take care of your every program need!
  • Many clients wait until after ordering invitations to order their programs.
    • It is perfectly fine to order everything at once, but considering that the one is needed so much sooner than the other, it's not necessary. Often the information needed for the program is still in its inception when the invitations are ordered.
    • No matter the detail of assembly required for your program, Scribbles recommends ordering them five weeks in advance of your wedding. We do have speedy companies that can print your programs in less time, but it's always good to err on the side of caution and get those programs with time to spare!

Helpful HintHaving an usher at your ceremony to pass out programs can save money and paper, as many guests may grab one each.  A greeter or two would be able to pass out one program per couple or family.
